My Testimony

As someone who grew up in a Christian family and attended church since I was an infant, I cannot remember a time when I did not believe that God existed. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at a very young age and was heavily involved in our local Church. I was really good at acting like a Christian and answering  Sunday school questions, but my relationship with Christ was not personal. When I was in 7th grade, two significant things happened: first, my family started attending a new church, and second, I made the decision to transfer to a Christian school. Being in a Christian school and being involved in an active youth group led me to figure out what I believe and how to have a personal relationship with Christ. I truly understood my need for a Savior and the gift of salvation.  I was able to take my faith from something I believed because it's what I knew into a belief because I had a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior.

Then, at 16, God brought me to Freedom for the first time. He used that week in my life to turn my answer to the question “What is one job you would never do” (it was a teacher)  into my career path. Between that first trip to Freedom and my senior year of college, I returned to Freedom on four short-term trips and one 7-week internship. Throughout those trips and that time in my life, the Lord was making it abundantly clear that He was calling me to Freedom. In 2022, I embraced that calling by returning to Freedom for a 10-month internship. Those months allowed me to live out that calling and affirm that this is where God wants me.

The Lord has brought me through a lot of highs and a lot of lows over the years. He has been faithful to use my life circumstances to reveal my need for Him and His Word. He has been so kind to me as I have learned to give Him full control over my life. I pray that the Lord will continue to grow and change me to be more like Him every day.
